:: News - BRCA Micro National Series 2009/'10 - 31st July '09 ::
First thing this Saturday 01st August 2009 is when the entries open for the official BRCA Micro National Series, in what promises to be the very best and most competitive season yet !

Expect plenty of familiar faces and some new ones to be in attendance along with some old returning heroes in the form of 2007/'08 BRCA Modified micro champion Cris Oxley, plus just confirmed to be participating Microtech Racing's Keith Robertson who finished an impressive 4th in the 2007/'08 Pro-Stock championship. Keith's one of the best RC drivers in the country, a master of many classes, and a serious contender for the 4WD championship. To read more about the possible contenders for the two championships on offer see my last blog entry, "Next BRCA Micro Champion", for further details.

Seven rounds will form the championship with the best four to count. Some new venues are welcomed into the series, whilst old favourites in the form of Cardiff, Leighton Buzzard, Tamworth and Hereford remain.

Below are links to the official 2009/'10 BRCA micro section rules so you can check that your micro complies with all the technical aspects, and also below are links to the entry form and the BRCA micro section web site.

:: 04th October '09 - Leighton Buzzard Model Car Club ::

The Leighton Buzzard club running inside Brooklands Middle School kicks off the 2009/'10 BRCA Micro National Series and what a club to do so. Chris Hampson and the rest of the Leighton Buzzard crew are some of the friendliest you'll ever meet, and the club is always very accommodating and willing to please. The venue is perfectly sized for micro racing and is clean, warm and well lit. Expect a tight and technical track to test your skills, and a good driver with a well handling car is far more important than straight line speed here.

:: 01st November '09 : Newbury RC Club ::

A new club for 2009 to the micro scene with a very nice looking, well sized venue. The Newbury club is well established with regular 10th touring car and 12th circuit car race meetings. Not too far from what is becoming the mecca of micro racing (Leighton Buzzard/Aylesbury/Wycombe) so should hopefully have a good turnout.

:: 06th December '09 : Dudley Radio Car Club

Another new club to the UK micro national circuit but again being well placed geographically with a central location not too far from Birmingham. Unfortunately not much further information on this club but the location is sure to be a bonus for those seeking some Sunday micro racing action.

03rd January '10 : Tamworth Radio Racing Auto Club

Tamworth along with Hereford are the two founding clubs of top level micro racing in the UK and a popular venue for those who like there jumps to be big. Huge jumps and even bigger wall rides are all part of the Tamworth experience and with an equally large venue there’s no excuse to not see what your micro can do.

07th February '10 : Caldicot Radio Control Car Club

Whilst the Caldicot club are new to the national scene they've been racing micros for years, and is the home to 2007/'08 BRCA Pro-Stock micro champion Craig Harris. Plenty of sideways drift action should be on display here as the clubs shiny painted concrete floor is one of the slippiest surfaces known to man. Like Leighton Buzzard a venue that rewards a smooth driving style and well handling car over out and out horsepower.

28th February '10 : Cardiff On-Road & Buggy Racing Association

Now a regular to the BRCA Micro National Series and with it's huge venue one to really test your cars straight line speed. Fast is the order of the day here so stock up on those pinion gears before you go !

21st March '10 : Hereford Radio Car Club

THE micro club in the UK that the others have to try and beat. A well sized and lit venue with some of the most innovative tracks the micro racing scene has witnessed and for sure to be one of the highlights of the season. A good all-round balanced car is the secret to success here, expect this meeting to sell out so book your place early !
